1. Information We Collect

typinggrid.com is designed to offer high-fidelity typing practice tests. To provide this service, we collect:

• Account Credentials: If you sign up, we store your email address and display name securely using Firebase Authentication.
• Local Storage Cache: To allow zero-signup practice attempts, we store your typing test history (speed, accuracy, attempt records) directly on your device using your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device.
• Payment Records: Upon successful payment, we record your Razorpay Payment ID, the product purchased, and the amount paid for the purpose of activating and managing your access.

2. What We Do NOT Store

We do not store your typing practice progress, scorecards, test attempt history, or session logs on our cloud servers. All practice data is stored exclusively on your local device via your browser's local storage. Creating an account syncs only your credentials (name and email) to Firebase — not your typing history. You can clear your local practice data at any time through your browser settings.

3. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security protocols to protect your accounts and databases. All transmissions between your browser and our Firebase database are encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocols. We never sell, lease, or distribute your account email addresses to third parties.

4. Analytics & Third-Party Tools

We use the following analytics services to study platform traffic patterns, improve interface design, and understand user behavior:

• Google Analytics: Collects anonymous usage statistics such as page views, session duration, and traffic sources. Data is aggregated and does not identify individual users. View Google's Privacy Policy.
• Microsoft Clarity: Records anonymized session replays and heatmaps to help us understand how users interact with our interface (e.g., where users click, scroll, or encounter friction). Clarity does not capture passwords or payment information. View Microsoft's Privacy Statement.

Neither service collects personally identifiable information such as your name, email, or payment details.

5. Cookies

typinggrid.com uses cookies set by our analytics tools. We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking across other websites.

• Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _gid): Used to distinguish users and sessions for anonymous traffic analysis. Persist for up to 2 years (_ga) or 24 hours (_gid).
• Microsoft Clarity cookies: Used for session replay and heatmap analysis. Persist for up to 1 year.

You can disable cookies at any time through your browser settings or by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Disabling analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use any feature of typinggrid.com.

6. Payment Data & Razorpay

All payment transactions on typinggrid.com are processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment gateway. typinggrid.com does not collect, store, or have access to your payment card numbers, CVV, UPI PINs, or bank account credentials at any point.

When you make a payment, Razorpay processes your financial data under their own privacy and security policies. We encourage you to review Razorpay's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle payment data.

What we do store: Upon successful payment, we record your Razorpay Payment ID, the product purchased (e.g., Exam Mode Pack), and the amount paid in our Firestore database for the purpose of activating and managing your access. This data is retained for a minimum of 3 years to comply with financial record-keeping requirements under Indian law.

7. Data Retention

• Account data (name and email) is retained as long as your account is active.
• Payment records (Payment ID, plan, amount) are retained for a minimum of 3 years.
• Local storage data (practice history, scores) is retained only on your device and can be cleared at any time via your browser.

To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at [email protected]. Payment records required for legal compliance cannot be deleted before the retention period expires.
