AIIMS CRE Official Evaluation Rules & Accuracy Tie-Breaker Formula
As notified in AIIMS Examination Section Notice No. 17/2025 and Notice No. 151/2025, skill tests evaluate gross key depressions with standard stroke deductions (5 keystrokes = 1 word):
- Full Mistakes (-50 Keystrokes / -10 Words Penalty): Omitting a word, typing an incorrect word, spelling mistakes in any word, or inserting an extra unscripted word deducts 50 keystrokes from your total typed count.
- Half Mistakes (-25 Keystrokes / -5 Words Penalty): Spacing errors, punctuation errors, paragraph/indentation errors, and capitalization mismatches deduct 25 keystrokes.
- Net Keystrokes Formula: Net Keystrokes = Total Typed Keystrokes - (Full Errors × 50 + Half Errors × 25).
- Official Accuracy Formula (Tie-Breaker Criterion v): Accuracy % = (Net Speed / Gross Speed) × 100 = (Net Keystrokes / Total Keystrokes) × 100. In case of identical overall CBT scores, candidate with higher accuracy in the typing test ranks higher in final merit.
- Minimum Keystrokes / "Insufficient Attempt" Disqualification: As per Note 2 of Notice 17/2025, candidates who fail to type at least 2,625 keystrokes (for 35 WPM / 15 min) or 2,000 keystrokes (for DEO 8,000 KDPH / 15 min) are declared Insufficient Attempt and disqualified outright.
- Backspace & Navigation: Backspace and arrow keys are fully enabled throughout the 15-minute test.
