Andhra Pradesh Typing Test Rules & Evaluation Scheme

Andhra Pradesh state typing recruitments operate under two primary statutory frameworks:

  • High Court of Andhra Pradesh & District Judiciary: 45 WPM English typing test over 10 minutes on a 50-mark merit scale (50 − Total Mistakes × 0.50). Minimum 20 marks (40%) and 45 Net WPM required to qualify for merit selection.
  • SBTET AP Typewriting (TWSH): State Board Paper-I Speed tests at 30 WPM (Lower Grade) and 45 WPM (Higher Grade) evaluated on a 100-mark valuation scheme (100 − Total Mistakes × 2.0). Minimum 45 marks required to pass. Passing Higher Grade English (45 WPM) is mandatory to apply for state government typist vacancies.
  • Speed Calculation: Gross WPM = (Total Characters / 5) / Time in Minutes. Net WPM = Gross WPM - (Total Errors / Time in Minutes).
